When do you need scaling the Product owner?
Sometimes enterprise level applications have huge functionality and lot of modules to be covered in order to build the product. In such cases there may be multiple teams needed to work on building that product. In this case, the product is divided into logical pieces which are being taken care of by different product owners called area product owners. There will be a chief product owner who will have the overall product accountability and area product owners will closely collaborate with the chief product owner. Each area product owner can have a area product backlog and one to many teams may work under each area product backlog.
