I believe Business analyst is same as Product Owner, do you agree?
No, it is not true. Business analyst may not be able to decide the product backlog order, he/she cannot cancel a Sprint, he/she cannot say “no” to the stakeholders, he/she cannot provide the leadership direction to the Product. The Product owner should have knowledge, experience in 4 quadrants: Product management, project management, leadership and business analysis. In Scrum team there is no specific role called Business analyst. However, if there is one in the Scrum Team he/she can help the Product owner and the Developers in any way that adds value. But both are not the same. Eventually if Business analyst gets the knowledge and experience in the above 4 quadrants he/she may become a product owner.
