What do you understand by the concept of sustainable pace?
There is one principle in Agile Manifesto (#8) related to sustainable pace. It is: “Agile processes promote sustainable development. Agile processes promote sustainable development. The sponsors, developers, and users should be able to maintain a constant pace indefinitely.”
The team targets a pace of work that can be sustained for a long time. The term “sustainable pace”, more general, was proposed by Kent Beck himself in replacement of the original “40 hour week” denomination for this Extreme Programming practice.
It is like a marathon running, by adjusting the pace the marathon runners can complete maintain sustainable pace. So it helps to become predictable for any future forecast.
