What is a Definition of Ready and what are its components?
In Scrum there is no Definition of Ready, it has only Definition of Done. However, Scrum does not stop using any useful additional practices. One of such practices used by Scrum Teams is the Definition of Ready. The definition of Ready is an agreement between the Developers and the product owner where the backlog items have to pass through a few agreed points to mark it as ready to be pulled into a Sprint. Some sample criteria it can have is: acceptance criteria is clearly defined, at least a rough sketch of UI is created, dependencies identified, clarification and assumptions are cleared, it is split to the smallest level possible, estimated.
