So the Product Owner helps the Developers helping what is coming next through Product Backlog prioritization. The role of Scrum Master is like the side view and rear view mirror who helps the drive to drive safe in traffic. So both have a different purpose and they both help the Developers in the Scrum Team different ways. Product owner gives the product leadership and the Scrum Master provides the people enabling leadership. They both have to collaborate in order to effectively lead the Product Development.
