There is nothing wrong in a Product Owner coming from a technical background, but a Product Owner should never decide the technology related decisions as it is the Developers’ area of expertise. Moreover, a Product Owner coming from technical background should avoid acting as a technical subject matter expert to the Developers. It impacts the self-managing and accountability of the Developers.
