Is it mandatory to include detailed acceptance criteria with a user-story?
Acceptance criteria defines the functional and non-functional requirements that need to be met for a user story. The level of details may vary depending on the nature of the work. Hence, it is a good practice to include the Scrum Team in their creation as some of those requirements may already be addressed by the team’s Definition of Done. However, if the user story is on the higher order in the product backlog, I would prefer to add detailed acceptance criteria so that the Developers can have better clarity and they can provide estimates accordingly. For lower order items, the acceptance criteria can be progressively elaborated.
