One of the Agile values is ‘Working software over comprehensive documentation”. Your team seems to live with it. While they create a world class product, they are reluctant to document. This results into many practical challenges. As a product owner, how do you deal with it?
Agile manifesto uses the term ‘Over’, which means a higher preference to working software, it does not say that we do not need any documentation in agile. This means one should do the necessary documentation to support the development and use of the product. I would discuss with the Developers and explain what are the “product” related documents required such as user guides, release notes, installation notes, FAQs and help them understand why they are important and make it part of the Definition of Done after getting buy-in from the Developers.
